This morning I had a solid group of 8 students. I'm definitely getting "regulars" to my classes, and I love it a ridiculous amount. This weekend I hope to sit down and work out a few new Spinning profiles to throw into the rotation. With this many regulars, I don't want to re-use my profiles too often. I also need to find some new songs to toss into the mix. It can't be All-Lady-Gaga-All-The-Time. Well, it could be... but you know, people will probably revolt eventually!
Anyhoo, class this morning was great! I think I gave them a good workout, and I chatted with a couple of the really friendly folks. I'm going to see if one gal wants to get together to run with me on Sunday. I love having a running buddy. I'm about 800x less likely to skip if I'm meeting someone. Like it would have to be seriously cold, or snowy before I'd cancel. Whereas, if it's just me, I totally wuss out. I am sure that says something about how I treat myself, how I am not accountable to me, etc... What can ya do, right?
Oh. Right. Go talk to someone about it. D'oh! Tonight is my first appointment, and I'd be a giant lying sack of crap if I told you I wasn't nervous. I am. I'm pre-filling the paperwork for the appointment, and I'm wondering what it's going to be like. Will I cry? (probably, I'm a cryer, and I've already cried once today (a work thing, which is doubly horrifying)) Will she wonder WTF my deal is, and why I am there? (I hope not) Will she tell me stuff I don't want to hear? Will I leave there thinking therapy is utter bullshit? (I hope not) So many unknowns. So I'm going to wile away the afternoon, trying to distract myself from the annoying little voice in my head that is telling me this won't help me, and that I should just give up and be happily plump for the rest of my life. SHUT UP, BITCH! (the voice is the bitch in question, not me :D)

4/16, Waiting on Dinner, and this m*therf*cking wrist brace
I didn't make it up at 5 am to run, but I did it when I got home, despite all my best efforts to procrastinate it further. See below:
So it's done. Now I wish someone would feed me. I'm hungry. And my DH is in the basement on a skype call for his software. I need something I can whip up, and have it be fine until whenever he is done.
I'm ready to stuff this motherfucking wrist brace up someone's ass. It's annoying. It's a PITA. I can't sew, I can hardly operate utensils, my handwriting has suffered greatly. And to really rub salt in the wounds, it still hurts when I take the brace off and bend my wrist. I have an appointment with my ortho guy on Thursday, but CRIPES I'm sick of this crap. The brace is itchy, hot, and disgusting after a spin workout. I washed it on Saturday because it was literally full of sweat. How grody is that? I take it off to run, but I have to wear it when I spin, or I end up bending it and leaning on it. So, while I know there are starving kids in Africa who have it much worse than I do, I'm still going to bitch about it. So there.

Planning, Therapy, Working Out, and movies
Again, not in that order...
So, I've been a total slacker about working out. I haven't run in like 8 days. Boo. I hate it, but I have not been motivated. I don't know what my deal is. I taught a KILLER 90 minute Spin class on Saturday tho. It was a full class, too! Which is super fun. I totally prefer teaching a full class! I'm going to write out my workout goal for the week right here:
- 16 miles of running - starting tomorrow morning at 5 am.
- 2 spin classes - the one I teach on Wednesday, and a Qi class on Saturday with my friend Dawn.
Someone hold me accountable, for f*ck's sake!
On to the next topic. Therapy. I've never done any sort of counseling or therapy. I tell people at least once a week to take advantage of the benefits we have at work that cover therapy or counseling. But I've never done it. However, I have an appointment Wednesday night. I found someone who specializes in eating issues. I feel like I know all the right things to do, yet I'm not doing them. I know that I eat when I'm anxious, bored, worried, etc. I also feel out of control. So I figure this cannot possibly hurt anything, and it's totally covered by our insurance plans. Win-win. We'll see. I feel weird about it, and I haven't even really told my DH what this "appointment" is for because I don't want him to think I'm batshit crazy. So you know, no stigma there. ::insertasmileyofmerollingmyeyesatmyself::
Planning... I would like to plan out my meals again for the week. We did so great in January, with not eating out, and I'd like to keep that train a'goin. We eat better food, less crap, and save money when we plan our meals. I'm going to start working on my plan tomorrow at work, so that if I need to hit the store on the way home, I can.
Movies!! So, I love me a funny action movie. Don't hate me for seeing a super cheesy movie. We watched the A-Team this weekend. It.was.awesome. Funny, sarcastic, action, a teeny bit of romance, and most importantly... Bradley Cooper.
| I would like to lick him. That's not weird, right? |
Rent this movie. It's fun. It's not terribly thought provoking, but it's entertaining, that's for sure.

Water bottles, Spin, and Wine
Not all at the same time, I promise. Although, I'm pretty sure I could do it.
I lost my trusty camelback water bottle. Booo. So in an effort to drink more water and less diet mountain dew, I bought myself a purty new pink water bottle. It's a little different, but I like it so far. It's double walled, so it won't get all wet on the outside when it's even remotely warm. And, it is self-sealing at the top, so it shouldn't spill. Score!
Do you have a water bottle you love? I am, right as I type, making myself drink a bottle of water before I have another diet mountain dew.
Next up... Spin. Wednesday morning's class was awesome. I've accumulated a decent following for my classes, getting anywhere from 8-10 people pretty regularly for the early morning class. Woohoo! Saturday mornings are more hit or miss, and I share Saturdays with two other instructors. So, I need to tweak a class for tomorrow morning's class. I am going to update one of my longer classes with a few changes in the profile itself, and some new (to me) music to really get us going. Should be fun! Tonight, I must must must run. I mean, seriously, I must do it when I get home.
Wine. Well, it just sounds good today. So I'm going to hit the liquor store (that sounds like I'm going to rob it, but I'll probably just go ahead and pay for my wine like a good law abiding citizen :D) and get some Rose wine. That is pronounced Ros-A, by the way. In case you are telling your friends about it, you don't them to make fun of you and call you a small town hick when you all it Rose Wine, which is what it frickin' says. But I digress... I think a glass (or two?) of the wine sounds wonderful at this point. Must run first. Then wine. Seriously, that is the order that it must happen in order for the run to happen at all!

I have returned from the land of Spring and Cowboys
Ah, Texas. How I love thee. Let me count the ways:
- In February, it was nearly 80 degrees outside. It felt like May in Colorado. I should have packed sandals and capris.
- The food. Oh dear god, the food. I'd be super fat if I lived there. Fried pickles were on the menu everywhere we ate.
- Assuming I could resist fried pickles like 4% of the time, I'd be a skinny girl in Texas.
- One of my most favorite people in the whole wide world (DH's cousin) lives there.
- There is a store called Cheaper than Dirt Guns right down the road from where we stayed. I get that this doesn't fit with my Crunchy Hippie Chick persona, but it's one of the reasons I'm a wanna-be, not a bona fide Crunchy Hippie Chick. I like to shoot.
- I was amongst my people. And by "my people" I mean Cowboy fans.
- I can buy Cowboy stuff, cool, fun, awesome Cowboy stuff, in the friggin' grocery store.
| This was at Albertson's, y'all! |
So now we are home. Chubbier than when we left (at least I am), but glad we went. I don't even have regret for the fried pickles. They were that good. I won $140 at the poker tournament, finishing in 3rd! There were 28 people in the tournament, so I am super pleased with that. Top woman, too. GIRL POWER, bitches. Don't be pushin' me around. I should have taken my $140 in profits and run down the street to Albertson's, walked up to someone in charge there with my sweaty wad of cash (it's humid there, even in February), and said "How much cool Cowboy shit can I get for this?"
What I did not do in Texas was run. Or eat right. So perhaps it isn't the ideal location for me :D
Oh, in case you were on the edge of your seat, wondering how my doctor's appointment went on Thursday... Well I guess it went good. The wrist is healing, but i still have this $#(&#@ splint on, and will probably get to keep it for another month. That does not make me a very happy camper. No sewing, no weight bearing exercise (Krav Maga, Crossfit, pushups, etc) for at least that long. So.Frustrating.
So today I'm planning to get out for a run. I've decided to not run a half marathon in Cinci. I will run the 10K instead. Every time I get to the point in my half marathon training where it's time to run 8+ miles for my long runs, I get struck with the I-don't-wanna syndrome. So, and this is brilliant y'all, maybe I shouldn't force myself to do something I don't enjoy. It makes me want to not run at all. Like, I don't even want to do my short 3-4 mile runs anymore. It's like if I am not going to do it right, I am not doing to do it AT ALL. So I'm giving myself permission to not feel like I have to do a half marathon. Brilliant, I tells ya. Instead, I'm going to focus on running consistently throughout the week. Consistent 4 milers have to be better for me than what I've been doing. Which is bitching about how I need to run, but don't want to. So for this week, that is my goal. 4 runs, 2 spins.

Oh my, it's been a while!
So, after Eat In Month ended, I apparently forgot I had a blog. Oops.
In reality, what happened was that I went to a Krav Maga class and hurt my right wrist. It's been splinted for over two weeks and it is MAKING ME F*CKING CRAZY. I've eaten out plenty, because it turns out there are lots of things I don't do well with my left hand. Including wield a knife, flip anything with a spatula, and dishes. I see the doctor again today and I'm really hoping to get rid of the splint. I chipped a bone, either my big arm bone or one of the tiny ones in my wrist. There is a piece of bone floating around in there, which apparently doesn't feel great. Soooooo... it will either absorb back in to my body (how grody is that?) or they may have to go in and get it (which isn't happening, cause I don't want it to). I'm hoping to find out itmagically grossly absorbed into my body when I see the doctor later today.
This seriously has cramped my style. I can't sew, I struggle with cooking, and this thing gets NASTY when I sweat. So yeah, I'm ready for it to be done.
I've been eating, well, poorly. I'm tracking my food again, this time using Sparkpeople for a change. I'd like to use my blog to report on that, as well as talk about my training, etc. My half marathon is coming up on May 1st, and I plan to do an 8 mile run this Sunday while I am in Ft. Worth at DH's cousin's house. One of my imaginary running friends (NOVIA!) is going to come get me and run with me. I never turn down company!
We leave tomorrow afternoon for Ft. Worth. This will be a challenging weekend of eating. Going out to eat a lot, poker party food, alcohol, staying up late. Lots of fun, but not great for my weight loss challenge! Plus, our Girl Scout Cookies arrive today (insert music of doom here). UGH!

It's over
Since it's officially February, Eat In Month is over. Woohoo!! I'm proud that we actually did it. Now I'm totally cringing at the cost of going out to eat!
That said, my hubby and I went to lunch today. Where did we pop our Eat In Month cherry, you ask? Village Inn. Hysterical, isn't it? Not somewhere fun and fancy like a steak house. Or super healthy like Subway. But good ol' VI.
I had an eggbeater Denver Omelette and some toast. It was good. But I could have made that meal for like $1.
